Frequently asked questions
Is transport covered by Support at Home?
Partially. Transport sits within the independence support category of the Support at Home program, meaning it can be mostly funded as part of your home care plan. But like all services in the independence category, transport attracts a means-tested co-payment of between 5% and 50% depending on your circumstances.
What types of transport can be included?
Trips to medical appointments, shops, social events and other community activities can all be included. We can also assist after hospital discharge or during rehabilitation.
Do I travel with the same carer or driver each time?
Where possible, yes. We prioritise consistency so you’re travelling with someone familiar and trusted.
What if I use a mobility aid?
No problem. We can accommodate wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility equipment, and our qualified staff are trained to provide assistance getting in and out of vehicles.
Can I book transport for medical appointments only?
You can use transport for medical, social or everyday needs – or a mix of all three.
How much notice do I need to book transport?
We recommend booking a few days ahead, but we’ll always do our best to help with short-notice requests.
Do you provide transport in rural or regional areas?
Yes. Envigor provides transport services across Queensland, including many regional and coastal communities. Talk to a Care Services Manager in your area if you’re unsure.
