Support at Home

A quick guide for clinic staff

The Support at Home program is Australia’s in-home aged care program. It ensures older people can receive the aged care services they need in the comfort of their own homes. Here’s what you can tell your patients about it.

There are 8 funding levels

Funding levels are determined by your support assessment. The higher the level you receive, the more funding you have to use on home care services.

Services you can receive

Clinical (nursing, allied health), Independence (showering, meals, social support, transport) and Everyday Living (cleaning, mowing).

What does it cost you?

Independence and Everyday Living services attract the government's means-tested co-contribution. Clinical services are fully funded.

How to get assessed

Register at myagedcare.gov.au or call 1800 200 422. An assessor will make a time to visit you or assess you by video call. Be sure to register early as there is a waitlist.
