Michelle Boon, Envigor’s community care business partner for the Central Queensland region,is enjoying helping locals through the home care package maze to ensure they receive the right amount and type of care.
Offering home care services across a wide area of Central Queensland, including Rockhampton, Emerald, Gladstone, Yeppoon and surrounds, Michelle leads a team of carers who offer individualised care services to local residents.
Coming from a business management and HR background as well as 20 years’ experience as a certified trainer and assessor, Michelle brings to the role a good understanding of the aged care system.
“I’m passionate about helping people get the most out of their package and get the care that’s right for them,” says Michelle.
“We’re offering one on one consultations to answer any questions or concerns people might have about their loved ones. We can offer advice on RAS and ACAT assessments and home care packages and organise assistance and services to allow them to stay in their homes longer.
“This could be offering something as seemingly simple as home maintenance and domestic assistance through to personal and nursing care.”
Michelle says she is finding her new role to be personally fulfilling and is looking forward to reaching more people in the local community.
“For me, the best part of my job is being able to give people choices on how they wish to live their lives as they age and to be able to support them along that journey. Allowing them to live with dignity and be treated with respect.
“I’ve been speaking at Senior Citizen forums and Retirement Villages and hopefully soon attending community meetings and events. Envigor has a great reputation and I’m very proud to be involved with their vision and growth in the future.”
