Envigor celebrates Harmony Day

Envigor will celebrate cultural diversity this Thursday by holding staff events for Harmony Day.

Harmony Day has been held every year since 1999 on March 21, coinciding with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Envigor employs people from around 20 different nationalities, so Harmony Day is a chance to celebrate our staff while learning about their traditional customs, cuisine and languages.

Envigor staff working in Seasons communities across South East Queensland will be encouraged to wear orange for the day and morning teas will be planned where employees will get together and learn more about their colleague’s cultural traditions.

As the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
