Sam offers flexible care on Brisbane’s South and Bayside

Samantha Hearn, Envigor’s community care business partner for Brisbane South, Redlands and Logan regions, talks about what she enjoys most about working for Envigor.

Offering home care services across Brisbane’s Southern suburbs, down to Logan and out to the Bayside suburbs, Samantha leads a team of carers who offer individualised care services to local residents.

Bringing a wealth of experience in aged care to her role, Samantha says it’s being out in the community making a difference that she enjoys most.

“I have worked in the aged care industry for 10 years across both community and retirement living in various roles, although my biggest passion is to be out in the community building relationships with my team, clients and families,” says Samantha.

“I enjoy being able to assist those who may be isolated and unaware of what services are available and work with them to access services to help improve their lifestyle. I have a passion for working with people and supporting them to live a safe, comfortable life independently.”

For Samantha, joining the Envigor team has meant becoming a part of a company with values that align with her own.

“The Envigor model offers client choice, flexibility and care to client, families and members of the team. Being part of the Envigor team inspires me every day as I am able to deliver a customer-focused service.”

“Our service gives our clients dignity by showing respect – we approach every client and situation with an open mind and no judgement.”

Samantha says that taking this individual approach has allowed her to adapt her service to suit a client’s needs, particularly when it comes to social engagement.

“In a previous role working in the retirement living space, I worked to encourage residents with lifelong skills to incorporate their ideas into the monthly calendar of events,” says Samantha.

“By using their skills in this way, the residents enjoyed a greater sense of worth in their community and everyone benefitted from these social, physical, and stimulating activities.”
