For Joan, an Envigor client who lives at Seasons Mango Hill, going to see the ballet was an enjoyable outing and not the only one she’s enjoyed with her regular carer Fiona.
Joan, who hails from the UK, moved to Australia to live with her daughter a few years ago and going to the ballet is one of her loves.
While her daughter was away overseas on her honeymoon, Envigor carer Fiona was happy to step in and accompany Joan to the Bolshoi Ballet during its season at QPAC.
Both Fiona and Joan had a fabulous time and have the photos and selfies to prove it.
Fiona was also there to support Joan at her daughter’s wedding a few week’s earlier to make sure she was well looked after and supported during the celebrations.
Envigor care services manager Bernadette Hatton says this continuity of carer approach is an important aspect of Envigor care and leads to positive bonds and trust for both the client and their families.
“It is a privilege to organise special outings and events for clients so they can continue living the way they want to live and enjoy their passions,” says Bernadette.
“Social support is such an important aspect of care. Being able to continue to feel a part of the wider community has such positive impacts on health and wellbeing and something we always try to include in our client’s care plans.
“It’s so lovely that just a few months after moving into Mango Hill and receiving Envigor care that Joan’s daughter can go on her honeymoon overseas without any worry, knowing that Joan is well taken care of and able to go out and about.”
