Vicki Saun, Envigor’s Community Business Partner for the Maroochydore region, has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the home care sector and enjoys helping people of all ages develop and maintain healthy, productive independent lives in their own homes.
Vicki brings more than 20 years experience in aged services and home care and says that working for Envigor has allowed her to support locals living in the Maroochydore region of the Sunshine Coast to receive the highest level of personalised care services with an emphasis on respect, choice, dignity and family.
“Being locally run and managed, we have flexibility and the freedom to make decisions that enable client choices to be realised,” says Vicki.
Vicki says that leading a team who all live and work locally means that the team really care for their clients and are in the position to tailor services to suit the individual.
“I like to ensure that people never feel like just another name on a list. We’re here to make sure people have everything they need, every day, to live life the way they want.
“We can help with everything from meals, medications, keeping appointments, assist with shopping and much more.”
Vicki says part of her role is matching support workers to clients to ensure that the person doesn’t just receive care but they enjoy an increased quality of life. A good example of this was one of her clients Marion, who lived on her own without family support and was reluctant to ask for help.
“Marion was quite isolated even though she was living in a suburban community. She needed someone to help her live a normal life, someone who could be her companion for a few hours a week, and someone she could enjoy social outings with. Really all she needed was something to look forward to from one week to the next.”
“We matched Marion with a support worker who was patient, kind and caring. This gave her a new lease on life and the knowledge that she could stop trying so hard to manage everything herself. She looks forward to her regular visits and tells us we have positively changed her quality of life.”
