I’m Nicole, your Envigor Care Services Manager for the Darling Downs.
I have lived on the Darling Downs for 12 years and have always lived in rural communities. I think it is important to understand the difference required when providing care in a rural area. My background is in finance and business management, but as soon as I started working in community aged care I knew this was where I was meant to be.
I have worked in Home Care Package management for the last 5 years and helping people to stay at home their way is my passion.
Working for Envigor gives me the opportunity to run a business where people will be able to receive quality care by a regular staff member, individual support where they need it, and where they are known by name by a manager who genuinely cares.

I had a client who used to be a great golfer. He would play golf in every town they visited, any chance he got. When he had a stroke, he lost use of his right arm and leg and thought golfing was out for him. He had lost his passion and was quite low.
I worked with him and his regular carer to encourage him to attend physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to improve his balance and strength, and we set a goal – 12 months of therapy and we will play mini golf. Well, after the 12 months were up, we took him to mini golf and his smile lit up the entire course. We supported him through the 9 holes and both myself and his carer got so much pleasure out of making his year, and seeing him light up. During that year there was a huge improvement in his strength and balance, his relationship with his wife and family and his overall quality of life.
